| Master Planning and Programming |
 |
The master-planning phase is the first step in the design process. This phase includes a description of the anticipated size of the project, the types of spaces that will be housed in the building, the relationships of these spaces within the building and an understanding of how the building will relate to the site. During a typical master-planning phase we will work with school officials and members of the community to evaluate alternatives before proposing potential solutions. As we review the options, a full cost analysis will help focus the decision-making. DRA has the ability to balance the need for prompt answers with thorough analysis, fiscal realities with long term viability, and experience with creative thought. A thorough master plan will allow for a smoother and more productive design process. Many of the design teams questions will be answered during the planning process. This will allow the team to focus on the design of the building.
